Hello! I’m Sofia Ignateva.
For several years now, I’ve been exploring environmental topics and sharing them in my blog for a Russian-speaking audience — about eco-living in the countries where I’ve lived: Georgia and Spain.
Working with ecology gives me everything I’ve ever wanted — creative freedom, self-expression, and a sense of purpose. I don’t have a formal environmental education, but over the years of studying different aspects of sustainable living, I’ve learned a lot. I also completed a two-month course by the Belarusian Ecoidea School called “From Words to Action” and created my own project — a daily environmental calendar, which you can read about below.

Environmental Calendar
This is a desktop calendar about nature, sustainable development, and mindful living. Each day is dedicated to an environmental date — including official ones (UN, UNESCO, WAP, and others) — and connected to events and people who inspire us to care for the planet.
Inside you’ll find facts, statistics, eco-friendly habit tips, as well as book and film recommendations for inspiration and a deeper understanding of the topic. You’ll learn about iconic figures in the world of ecology, major environmental catastrophes, the first laws created to protect nature, inventions that contributed either to pollution or, on the contrary, to cleaning the environment, and how people around the world gradually began to recognize increasingly serious environmental problems — and how this awareness influenced their subsequent actions.
